Tonight's council meeting has been rescheduled to next Monday, September 16, 2024 due to lack of quorum. There were council members who have contacted they will not be able to attend meeting and it was determined we will not have a quorum. The agenda will not change. Updated agendas with reschedule date have been uploaded to the agenda section of the website and posted on site.
Per OML- Thank you for contacting the Oklahoma Municipal League. You said that there is a regular meeting tonight, you believe that there will not be a quorum present. If you know there will not be a quorum present, it would be best to cancel and reschedule the meeting. However, in cancelling, notice should be done as soon as possible and the reason for the cancellation (i.e. lack of quorum) should be stated. There are no statutes that give direction for cancelling a meeting, so, cancellation of a meeting should adhere to the same posting requirements provided for the notification of meetings.
