Welcome to City of Hartshorne City of Hartshorne....A Great Place to Live!
In the City of Hartshorne, we are defined less by boundaries on a map than by the sense of shared values our residents hold dear. Small town values, guided growth, preservation of historical, cultural, and natural heritage are just a few of the core principles that makes City of Hartshorne a wonderful place to call home.
Our City has rich history as a coal mining community that begin approximately in 1850. The last census shows Hartshorne had a population of 1987 (2016). The town name can be linked back to Dr. Charles Hartshorne, a wealthy entrepreneur from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who saw the great potential and opportunity in the area. He was an integral part of growth and development of our town.
