In Memory of Richard Lerblance

In honor of the funeral services for Richard Lerblance, City Hall will be closed Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Regular business hours will resume Thursday, July 30, 2026. We appreciate your understanding and extend our sincere condolences to the Lerblance family and all those mourning his passing.

The City of Hartshorne joins our community in deep mourning over the passing of Richard Lerblance, a man whose life was defined by service, leadership, and an enduring love for the town he proudly called home.

Richard dedicated much of his life to serving the citizens of Hartshorne and the surrounding communities. Whether as a volunteer firefighter, Fire Chief, Oklahoma State Senator, Justice of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Supreme Court, or Hartshorne City Attorney, he answered the call to serve with integrity, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to others. His contributions have left a lasting mark on our city and will continue to be remembered for generations.

It was a true privilege and honor to know Richard. We were blessed to know him personally, and it was especially meaningful to witness his years of service as a State Senator, a Justice of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Supreme Court, and as Hartshorne’s City Attorney. His genuine kindness, steady leadership, and willingness to help others earned him the respect, admiration, and friendship of so many. Richard never forgot where he came from, and he remained deeply devoted to the community he loved throughout his life.

The passing of such an extraordinary man leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of many. While we grieve his loss, we are also profoundly grateful for the example he set and the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of selfless service, unwavering dedication, and compassion.

On behalf of the City of Hartshorne, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Richard’s family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
